Homework
Homework is due at the beginning of each day. If it is turned in any later it will be considered late. Even if the teacher does not ask students to turn their homework assignments in, they should place their work in the homework bin.

My homework policy is as follows:
On time: 100% possible
  • 1 day late (turned in after the beginning of class or by the beginning of the next day’s class) = 25% off
  • 2 days late = 50% off
  • 3 days late or more = no credit, counts as a missing assignment
After five missing assignments, we will schedule a meeting with the student, parent, and teacher to discuss a homework contract.  Even if the assignment is late past the three day mark, you are still required to complete the assignment in order to maintain the integrity of your learning in this class. If you are absent, you will have the amount of days you were absent (plus one) to turn your work in (with this in mind, according to the policy in the school handbook, teachers are not obligated to give you your homework before you will be absent). Also, as a student who will be a middle schooler next year, it is your responsibility to come to me and show me your late-completed work. I will not come looking for it.

Turning In Assignments
At the very start of the day, the homework helper will be collecting assignments due.  Students can check the board each morning to see what assignments are being collected.
Tests, quizzes, permission slips, and any other important documents will be placed on the teacher’s desk.
