Behavior
There is a colored card system in place that makes note of behavior during the school day. There will be a record of each student for every school day if you are ever interested in checking in. The following colors represent a student's status:
- Green - Everyone begins the day with their card on green. Green designates that you are following the rules and respecting one another.
- Yellow - If you are told to change your card from green, you will find yourself on yellow. This means that you have been given a warning for your behavior.
- Red - A red card shows that you have continued your unacceptable behavior despite warnings. You will complete a Think Sheet, and your parents will be contacted.
- Blue - If an blue card is reached, you will complete a Think Sheet and be sent to the Principal for consequences at her discretion.
Jobs
Students in the class will take turns with weekly responsibility. He or she may be in charge of taking out the recycling, checking in homework, or perhaps serving as our class librarian. Every boy and girl in the 5th grade room has the responsibility to maintain the cleanliness, relationships, organization, and focus of our class, so this is our way to serve our 5th grade community within the class.
