Homework
Homework is due at the beginning of each particular class (for example, math homework is due at the beginning of math class, and so forth). If it is turned in any later it will be considered late. My homework policy is as follows:
On time: 100% possible
1 day late (turned in after the beginning of class or by the beginning of the next day’s class) = 25% off
2 days late = 50% off
3 days late or more = no credit
Even if the assignment is late past the three day mark, you are still required to complete the assignment in order to maintain the integrity of your learning in this class. If you are absent, you will have the amount of days you were absent (plus one) to turn your work in (with this in mind, according to the policy in the school handbook, teachers are not obligated to give you your homework before you will be absent). Also, as a student who will be a middle schooler next year, it is your responsibility to come to me and show me your late-completed work. I will not come looking for it.
Class Rules
-Treat teachers, other students, and yourself with respect at all times.
-While in class, no talking while the teacher is talking. If you have a question or concern, calmly raise your hand and be patient.
-Come to class fully prepared.
-No electronics in class. They will be confiscated if seen or heard.
-Keep your stuff neat and organized.
-Have fun! This class will be very enjoyable if you follow the rules.
Behavior
There is a colored card system in place which makes note of your behavior during the school day. The following colors represent your status.
Green - Everyone begins the day with their card on green (although there could be certain circumstances where it does not). Green designates that you are following the rules and respecting one another.
Yellow - If you are told to change your card from green, you will find yourself on yellow. This means that you have been given a warning for your behavior.
Red - A red card shows that you have continued your unacceptable behavior despite warnings. You will miss recess and a note will be sent home.
Blue - If a blue card is reached you will be sent directly to the Principal for consequences at her discretion.
